Add the backdrop of one of the best views in South-east England and a genuinely friendly and helpful staff, and then you have the formula for the fine reputation of a restaurant and hotel rooms at the Beacon, Tunbridge Wells.
The house dates from 1895 and was built as the country home of Sir Walter Harris, a former Lieutenant of the City of London. It has a wealth of architectural features including some particularly fine stained glass windows in the restaurant and oak-panelling in the bar area.
Previously the restaurant was finalist in the Publican Pub Food Awards, and we were awarded a Certificate of Excellence in the category of Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year and the hotel rooms a AA 4 Star rating and a Silver Award from England Accommodation for high quality and customer service. We were also short-listed for Alfresco Dining Pub of the Year, watch this space...
